About The Jesus Way Jamaica

The Jesus Way Jamaica launched in February 2008. Our immediate goal is to procure the property God has shown us to occupy for His kingdom. We have been negotiating on the property and are continuing to move forward.

In October 2008, we started a Bible school to train people, from any church, who want a deeper understanding of the Word of God and a solid foundation for doing what God has called them to do. Many churches want to send their people to VBIJ, to train them to be able ministers of the gospel.

We also work in the public schools tutoring children in reading, writing, and arithmetic, as well as teaching the children godly morals, values, and principles. We have been given full authority to teach the children any way we see best.

One of the areas God has directed us to be involved in is bringing unity to the Body of Christ. We have seen huge progress in this area. We were an intrical part of a tent crusade where seven churches, from four denominations, came together to reach out to one of the hardest, roughest areas of Kingston. We are seeing the denominational line being crossed over and thrown away, just to reach people for the kingdom of God!

We know God chose us to move to Jamaica at this specific season and time in history. God directed us here for the people in Jamaica who are hungry for the Presence of God instead of just religion. We are obeying God's leading, to allow Him to work through us to touch people's lives and to speak to their hearts the uncompromised Word of God. We are open to those who desire to be trained to find their position in the Body of Christ, as well as help launch those who want to enter full-time ministry.

We are also here during this time because the children have been calling out for help. God sent us to reach out to this generation to love them and train them to answer and embrace the call of God in their lives. We are here to help produce the next generation for Jesus and the world!

God called us into this harvest field for Him; that is "WHY US."

We believe our values should reflect the heart of God and what is most important to us. We believe people should do what God calls them to do and that families are called together. Derived from 2 Peter 1:5-7, these are the principles we live by:

	Faith Our faith is our confidence and trust in God and is the very foundation of our Christian life. Faith makes our lives a fragrant offering to God; it is what pleases Him.
	Virtue Virtue is our moral excellence—excellence that is measured by God’s Word as our standard for living. We will be pure in every word and deed. We will conform our lives and conduct to moral and ethical principles and uprightness, living in a way that honors God.
	Knowledge We must make it our purpose to know God and His ways. It is in knowing Him more that we will become more like Him. As we are made more and more into the image of God, our lives will glorify Him.
	Self-control Displaying self-control is one of the ways we know God’s fruit is coming to bear in our lives. It involves self-discipline and levelheadedness; it means we think before we say or do; it is responding, rather than reacting.
	Perseverance Perseverance is a steady persistence in adhering to a course of action, belief, or purpose. It is not giving up no matter what the adversity or trial. Perseverance helps to create in us a strong character for God that cannot be easily removed.
	Godliness A godly life comes from God and is a life conformed to the laws and wishes of God. It practices holiness and righteousness. We will depend on God, submit to His will, be grateful for His sacrifice, and be obedient to His plan.
	Brotherly Kindness Brotherly kindness is having affection for our brothers and sisters and gives us a true sense of family. It is an outward proof that we love God. It will cause us to think twice before we judge one another or say something wrong about them.
	Love Love is the bottom-line reason we do anything for God. Love for God, love for each other, and love for the lost gives meaning to all corresponding actions. It is what will hold us together during the difficult times; it is shown in our commitment to God, to others, and to our cause.

Our desire is to add to the life of each person we come in contact with. We believe everyone is important! Jesus took time for us, and He has given us the opportunity to add to someone else’s life. Make sure each encounter you have builds the other person up and leaves them encourged.
